Turn a pre-read into a shared, inspectable evidence base before opinions dominate.

Separate facts, interpretation, assumptions and missing evidence.

Output: Evidence register with confidence, disputes and owners

Preparation

  • Select only evidence relevant to the session question.
  • Record source, date and material limitations on every card.

Facilitation steps

Silent review

Participants inspect the evidence without discussion and mark questions.

Classify claims

Label each item as fact, interpretation, assumption or unknown.

Find tension

20 min

Small groups identify contradictions, exceptions and missing evidence.

Build the baseline

10 min

Record agreed facts, disputed claims and evidence owners.

Observe

  • Whose evidence is accepted without inspection?
  • Are forecasts presented as facts?
  • Which missing item could change the decision?

Debrief

  • What changed in our view after inspecting the evidence?
  • Which claim must remain uncertain?
  • What evidence gate is needed before a decision?

Transfer to work

Keep the register attached to the decision log and update it when material evidence changes.

The facilitator protects inspection time before inviting interpretation or proposals.

Failure modes

  • The gallery becomes a sequence of presentations.
  • Cards omit sources or material limitations.

Accessibility

  • Provide accessible digital cards before the session.
  • Do not rely on colour alone for claim types.
