Why it matters
A list of headlines creates awareness but not readiness. The analytical value appears when the team explains how an external change could alter demand, cost, access, risk or the rules of competition.

Use this chain:

Do not jump from a headline to a large initiative. The mechanism should be specific enough to challenge.

Weak analysis:

Stronger analysis:

Common mistake
Mistake: classifying an internal condition as a PESTLE factor.
“We do not have a privacy engineer” is internal. The external factor is the regulatory or market change that makes privacy capability more important.
